On Saturday, November 8th at noon, the City of Pinellas Park invites you to gather for a day filled with great food, exciting entertainment, and family fun at the annual Public Works BBQ Cook-Off and Rodeo
The afternoon kicks off with the much-anticipated BBQ Cook-Off, where local amateur chefs will fire up their grills and compete in the Pork Butt and Ribs categories. Contestants will battle it out for first, second, and third place trophies, while guests get to enjoy mouthwatering BBQ plates, along with cold drinks and beer available for purchase.
As the aroma of barbecue fills the air, the arena comes alive with two free rodeo shows, bringing the thrill of horses and skilled riders to the crowd. Families won’t want to miss the pig races, where the littlest competitors dash for glory, or the chance to meet friendly farm animals up close. Throughout the day, the stage will feature live music performances, creating the perfect soundtrack for an afternoon of fun. When the sun sets, the celebration ends with a spectacular fireworks display lighting up the Pinellas Park sky.
Children will enjoy plenty of activities designed just for them, while parents can relax and soak up the lively atmosphere. Don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs to enjoy the entertainment in comfort—but please, no coolers.
Best of all, this day of food and fun also gives back. Proceeds from food and drink sales will directly benefit People Helping People, a local charitable organization that assists elderly and disabled residents on fixed incomes with yardwork and minor home repairs. Additional support will also go to the Boys & Girls Club and the Kiwanis Club, making your participation part of something bigger for the community.
So mark your calendar, bring your appetite, and join us in Pinellas Park for an unforgettable day of barbecue, rodeo excitement, live entertainment, and family-friendly fun!
